Movie day.

We went to the movies Wednesday. The theater was showing Horton Hears A Who. It is one of our favorites, so I knew Reed would sit for most of it. Funny thing though...when we picked up Lauren for the movie, we found a weed that looked just like Horton's clover.

Summer School Pictures.

What a perfect picture to sum up our summer.

Who knew...toddler day at chick-fil-a!

Today I had planned a breakfast play date at Chick-fil-a then story time at Barnes & Noble with the Sandoval's. Well little did we know ... it was toddler day at chick-fil-a!! What a super surprise! There was face painting, balloon sculpting, coloring activities, story time, sand castle in a bag and snacks...what more could we ask for ... well they do have the cleanest playroom in town!! So we decided to skip story time at Barnes & Nobel this week. I think it was a good choice...just look at these smiles!!!

PJ Play Date

Today we had a pj play date with the Sandoval's. What a sweet family! I love this play date...Robyn brought Starbucks! The kids played dress-up as you can see in the photo...the little princess fairies painting. So cute! The boy's, well they just look like trouble! What a blessing it is to have a friend like Robyn. What a treat!

Something Fun for 61!

Friday we did something fun for dad's 61st birthday. We all went to Palm Beach. It was mom and dad's first visit and boy did they enjoy it. Dad relaxed under an umbrella with a nice cold drink while mom relaxed with a new book...she started Twilight. We played for a few hours and enjoyed our time together. Happy Birthday Daddy!

4th of July

We celebrated the 4th at my in-laws again this year. Janna and Renn sure do know how to host a party. Renn is a super cook and their house is perfect for swimming and dancing in their "Garage Mahal"! This year my entire family was invited plus Gram and Honey were down for a visit so they came along too. We played, swam, ate and toasted our armed forces and our friends and family that are serving and have served in the military. We did a lot of toasting! It was a great 4th!

Kids in a Candy Store!!

I took the kids to the Sweet Factory for Taylor's Birthday. Oh man, the kids had so much fun!! I enjoyed watching them talk about the candy and running back and forth between their favorites. They both got to scoop their favorites into their bags, they loved that!! I had to help Reed a little otherwise he would have used his hands and end up with a bag full of gummy frogs and lobsters. It definitely was a "sweet treat" for Taylor's birthday!

We love Tickers!

Reed is working on a big projects this month. As you can see from the chart...we officially started potty training! He has wanted to "go potty" for a long time. I knew it was way to early. Since he would ask, we would put him on the potty just like Taylor (it's nice to have her as an example) and we would pretend to "go" and talk about it. And you know, one day he went and we were all excited, we cheered and we sang a potty song!!! It was great but he was still a little to young. This continued for several months. Now here we are he is 2 years and 3 months old, home for the summer and he's going more often.....It's Time! I made a "Potty Chart" so every time he goes potty he gets a "ticker". He loves it! Once he fills in a chart he earns a small toy. This is his third chart! We've gone shopping and visited friends with no accidents! We aren't officially potty trained, but we are so close!!! Way to go Reed!!

Happy Birthday Taylor!

Taylor is 4 years old!! Oh my she is such a "Big Girl"!! We celebrated her birthday at Jump N Jungle this year. I have to say the kids all had such a good time and the adults too. I saw Lacy and CJ laughing and playing right along with their kids. We all love the obstacle course jumper too. I didn't see who won but I think Kim and Lacy raced a few times. It was a great party full of laughs and tons of smiles!! Thank you everyone for making Taylor feel extra special!! Happy Birthday Baby Girl!!

Once upon a time.....

We went to Barnes & Noble today for story time. This was our first story time experience and it went well! A nice lady read a story about the 4th of July and the kids enjoyed cookies and juice...and then they made a craft! They said they only do snacks and crafts for holidays, so lucky us for going before the 4th. We will definitely visit B&N for story time again!

Art at home!

I've set up art projects for the kids. I bought them both their own little art stations from Micheal's. They love it. The projects take Reed about 5 minutes then he's done. Taylor takes about 10 minutes. We've colored, painted and today we played in shaving cream.

Happy 1st of July!

The kids school (a.k.a. daycare) planned theme weeks all summer. They gave parents a calendar with the themes listed and a small note about each days activity... I love it! Each theme is carried out through lessons, activities, crafts and even snacks. The themes for June were down on the farm, surfs up, circus ole and this week it's made in the USA. They built scarecrows, had a hay ride and petting zoo, made clown masks, face paintings and picnics...just to list a few fun activities. Here is what Reed has been working on for the 4th.
